Olive Oil Experience

Her latest book "Judy Ridgway's Best Olive Oil Buys Round The World: The New Edition", published in September 2005, is the result of research in various parts of the olive growing world. It includes over 130 different olive oils from both the northern and the southern hemisphere, with estate and family details, olive varieties and production methods. There are also comprehensive tasting notes, suggestions for use and an introductory section to answer all the questions which are most frequently asked about olive oil.

In 1995 she wrote the book 'The Olive Oil Companion', the authoritative connoisseur's guide. It has been published in English (hardback and softback) in the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India and in translation in Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Sweden and Japan. There have been a number of later editions which have been published with no revisions and which are therefore completely out of date.

In 1989 she wrote 'The Mitchell Beazely Pocket Guide To Oils, Vinegars and Seasonings' (with Mark Lake) which was published in the UK, the USA and South Africa.

Her tasting experience is extremely wide taking in both premium and commercial oils. She frequently travels to the producing regions to keep up-to-date with new developments and she is in regular contact with university agricultural departments and olive oil research institutes in order to follow current academic thinking and research. Conference presentations have included events in London, Barcelona, Athens and Melbourne.
